Fragroom
‘Beautifully blended without any domineering aspects but each time I wear it (mostly at bedtime), I’m captivated by another aspect…
If niche is about absolute quality (ingredients, parfum concentration, collaborations with top perfumers), creativity, limited distribution (less than 100 retailers globally), personal connection, exclusivity and not being part of mindless more, more consumerism, Puredistance gets it so right.
The Scented Hound
‘Papilio opens with a soft and serene warmed magnolia that immediately hugs the skin. It’s enchanting, rather demure and very inviting. The soft florals blend with just a hint of the vegetal which brings the earth towards the ethereal bouquet. Blended so incredibly, the perfume at this point is less the sum of notes and is more of an expression of peacefulness with an added layer of fresh dewiness.’

‘I find Papilio to be a very intriguing scent. Not entirely feminine, nor masculine, the fragrance plays an elaborate game of hide and seek with my senses. Both comforting and elevating, Papilio is the kind of perfume that becomes a safe place for the one who wears it. ‘
Fragrantica – Sophie Normand
‘The perfume feels like a taffeta of colors, with a radiant glow, refreshed by hedione that gives it airy volume, bringing the idea of flapping wings, of a perfume that breathes. The whole scent is delicate and sparkling at the same time, with that elegant, sober touch so typical of many of the brand’s creations. While the fragrance has excellent staying power, it’s not overpowering, always remaining vaporous.’

‘On the skin, Papilio is multifaceted and unfolds between flowers, wood and leater. The fragrance opens with a delicate floral-green mist with a slightly earthy effect, where brightness of the neroli is muffled by smoky nuances.’
Cafleurebon – Nicoleta Tomsa
‘The butterfly effect is real, and I’m holding one of its manifestations in my palm, feeling the threads of possibilities tie up into a knot in time, so aware of the journey and so thankful for the destination.
I can’t think of a better name than Papilio for this fragrance: the delicate filigree of intricate patterns, the gentle flutter that makes the air vibrate, its spectrum of pastel hues – everything about it exudes brightness, lightness, and joie du vivre.’

‘On my skin, this fragrance opens like fragile wings – white flowers of jasmine and neroli, accompanied by citruses that enhance the orange and bitter nuances of neroli. These notes create a palette of vibrant hues, joy, and the airiness of fluttering wings against a backdrop of dark shades of resinous soft leather and cedar. Papilio is painted in amazing colors, catching your eye and admiration.’

‘What starts as an almost innocent carefree opening consisting of soft citruses and the olfactive childhood memories of berry stained palms. It slowly grows and evolves to the scent of the sweet delicate magnolias that are wrapped in a slightly vintage feel of lilies of the valley and heliotrope floral bouquet. However, afterwards Papilio morphs and wraps itself into a more luxurious feel of leather and silky woods.’
@Nischparfym
‘Right from the opening, you will recognize the classy Puredistance DNA. A tart bergamot swirls and mingles with a bouquet of precious flowers. Magnolia, Neroli and Heliotrope are the most dominant to this nose, lending a “classic beauty”-aura to the scent profile. As the fragrance settles, the base provides depth and character with a complex blend of leather and mysterious woods.’

‘Papilio is airy, mild powdery, elegant, very intense, long-lasting, and wonderfully smelling. It’s undeniably classic in nature, possessing an old-world charm while still being an easy wear in modern times.’
@Despinavnt
‘For me, Nathalie accomplished something even more complex than expressing the idea of transforming: rather than having her various olfactive hues gradually emerge during the scent’s evolution, she layered them in such a way that they all co-exist, in perfect harmony, without antagonising one another.’
@NoseFragrances
‘Papilio was easily one of the most interesting and one of my favorite things that I smelled in a long day of smelling perfumes. It has the luxury, sophistication and elegance from Puredistance, with some of the fun, quirky elements that I’ve noticed in a lot of Nathalie Feisthauer’s works.’
